On Sept 30, 2021 at 3:30 PM I was bicycling down Estates Dr in Breckenridge, CO when I heard a barking dog.  I had heard what sounded like the same dog about 15-20 minutes prior when biking up hill.  From the volume of barks, I assumed the dog was outside. I slowed my speed while coming downhill and as I saw the German Shephard charging out of the driveway into the middle of the street, I slowed even more to avoid either hitting the dog or being knocked over.  The dog bit my right hand leaving 2 deep puncture wounds.  I screamed for the dog’s owner to control his animal. The owner sent the dog back inside and provided me with antibiotic cream and a bandage.  He assured me the dog was current on rabies shots and never bitten anyone before.  When asked, he provided his name, address, and phone number.

Dog wanted to play ….

Dog on leash but owner was distracting while cleaning up after the dog. It ran like a bullet at me as I came past and would have taken me down if the leash didn’t stop him. In that type of situation it isn’t unusual for the dog to pull the leash out of the walker’s hand because they aren’t expecting it. I got lucky. That would have been a trip to the hospital even if I didn’t get bit.

Dog tries to attack me despite being on a lead with the owner on a main road

Riding around Centennial Park, Sydney – dog rang into my son, taking him out.

Owner ran off while I was checking my son was OK. Seriously impressive human being.

I love dogs, but when I’m walking my dog I make sure I’m aware of where it is, and I have control.

Two big dogs came out of nowhere and sandwiched me like an Oreo. Not fun after a 40-mile ride!

On a recent morning’s ride. I sure wish people would keep their dogs secure. This could have ended very badly if wife had been riding with me, as she rides behind me and I’m sure this dog would have gotten her.

Loose dog runs out from behind parked cars, I could not see it until the last minute. I just closed my eyes and pulled the brakes and hoped for the best.

Lucky for this little dog that all the other road users were on the ball. His owner didn’t seemed too concerned !

Encountered this guy and his dogs on the trails by Golden Lake twice. No leash in sight. Not even an attempt to get control of his dogs.
