Better HOLD ON!

Three things all cyclists can learn from this unfortunate tumble.
1. Best if you hold on correctly (thumbs wrapped around) when you are on the tops.
2. On a hot humid day gloves can help you from slipping of the tops due to sweaty hands.
3. This was on a group ride and we were in a double pace line and the two up front were talking and not paying attention SO no one called out the pothole that he hit.

I was on the bike with the cyclic camera and hit the same pothole but was holding on correctly with gloves on and didn’t crash.

Into the gap

It’s a regular Wednesday ride when one of the our rider change lane and got into the gap and felt.

Peloton crash

Fatigue rider moves to the left of the peloton and causing crash in the group.

Seagull Century Crash

Seagull Century Crash. Rather large group of cyclists on wet road coming into a curve – when wheels touched and down they went like bowling pins

Skateboard head-on

Slowed for a narrow part of the shared bike path, but not quite enough to avoid a head-on accident! Nobody, or equipment, harmed!

Run Over By Another Cyclist

Coasting uphill to a red light and another cyclist cut across the bus i was passing on the inside to swipe my front wheel. If i never had clip ins i’d have been able to put my foot out and stop falling.

The Crash

Riding at 19 mph in my bike lane a car pulled out in front of me. Only had the Fly6 CE at the time…I now have the Fly12 CE too.

Dooring – nobody seriousy injured or killed this time

Now that the riders have been released from hospital and the unabridged footage is with the police it seems reasonable to post this clip.

Note that this stretch of bike lane is operating 24/7 and just fits the two riders but not when a car door swung open.

It is easy to understand how dooring is a killer, but this time the lane to the right of the riders was empty.

Rubbish truck takes out the trash

We were waiting at the lights in a turning lane. The car behind us decided to change lanes and go straight through the lights but didn’t look to see the truck coming straight for the green light!

When a Metre doesn’t Matter

Training ride along Beach Road, when an impatient driver decides to move into my space in an effort to get into the inside lane. End result – he takes my wheels out from under me.
