These bike lanes with no buffer zone and no physical protection from 40 mph traffic are designed to scare people off from riding bicycles instead of demanding reasonable infrastructure. Palm has six lanes for cars here and never has the traffic that would justify it. This overly car-centric design just excludes people who need to get around by foot, mobility device, or bicycle. People too old and too young to drive are being forced into cars or excluded from social life because they can't simply walk, roll, or ride to their neighborhood gathering places.
