Just coming up to the intersection and next thing I know is a car is passing at speed and close although not that close, but still close enough to be inside the 1.5 metres clearance that is now required by "law" to be given which at one point had the "tram lines" about 25 mm up the side of the tyre, so even if the main body of the car wasn't intruding that much, the mirror most certainly was, which was perhaps forgot with what would appear to have been a "smart arse" attempt to do a close pass without going too close, but obviously forgot to recon with "tram lines" and the mirror protuding even more than the main body of the car.
