Impatient driver passes when there is no room

This is a 80km zone and the driver didn’t give 1.5 meters as the law South Australia. The grove way @ golden grove

There is roadwork on the Cotter Road bridge over the Tuggeranong Parkway to install an on-road cycle lane. Due to the construction works, cyclists must merge with traffic for 100m where it is a 2-lane, uphill section. Cars cannot safely pass a cyclist so must change lanes or wait. Most cars wait and change lanes, but a 4WD in lane 2 held up by merging cars from lane 1 performs a “Retaliation Pass”. Measurable spots on the road determine the location of the 4WD and enable a calculation of the passing distance of less than 63cm.

I felt the car had been a bit close as he passed. I reviewed the footage and realised the driver made an effort to get close to me. At this point, Springwood Police Station are okay with it and chose not to issue an infringement notice.

The Range Rover passed me in an unsafe location going over unbroken double lines. Forced an oncoming car to veer to the left to avoid the Range Rover over into his lane. Its hard to see if it was within 1 metre when it passed the camera bike.
BTW – whenever I try to overlay Strave the Cycliq App closes, so I have to do it without Strava overaly. Thats a serious bug. Version 1.21.0.7 Windows 10 on HP Elite x360 Convertible 13-ag0xxx.

The langauge is a bit salty – probably needs a beep or two.

I was traveling south on Town Center Blvd in Odenton MD. It’s a four-lane divided roadway in a residential neighborhood. The speed limit on this roadway is 35mph. It was bright and clear with good sightlines. I was dressed in bright contrasting colors with a blinking light on the rear of the bike.

I was in the right most travel line and to the right side of the lane as required by law. The driver of a black Chevrolet SUV, Maryland License Plate 1CS2586 was also going south and approached me from behind at high rate of speed. The left lane was empty. Instead of moving over to the empty left lane, the driver of the SUV decided to pass me aggressively at a high rate of speed coming within ~12 inches of me.
