his car stood behind me at the traffic light. Then he tried to pass me too close and then he hit me with his right mirror…
Incident type: Motor vehicle
This dude just hit me with his mirror on a bus lane. He was not even allowed to drive there.
Cycling to my gym on the Pacific Highway, Crows Nest in perfect conditions when a motorist decides that I am not there. Result: multiple fractures of the hip and shoulder. Surgery required to insert rods and screws with many weeks of recovery and rehab.
Teenage driver on her cell phone turned in front of me. Running about 20 mph before I saw the car start turning. Was able to get on the brakes a second or two before impact. Estimate my speed at 15 mph at impact. Twisted the handle bars on the stem. Easy fix. Luckily no other damage to the bike. Several deep bruises up and down my left side. Ribs have been sore for over a week. After my conversation with them, I think they’ll look before turning next time. I had a flashing front lamp and neon orange jersey but she didn’t “see me.”
Driver left stop sign claiming he didn’t see the cyclist who had dual flashing front lights on the bike.
Reported to the Police and no further action taken
Van driver was sent a letter of intended prosecution. Accepted it. A warning was issued to him so if he does it again he’ll be in trouble. If I’d have fallen over he would have been in more trouble. If I’d have been a car he’d have been done for leaving the scene of an incident.
I was “only” riding on the bike lane. I saw him driving out of the parking lot, watching on his left for seconds. I couldn’t believe he wouldn’t look straight ahead for so long, so I didn’t even press my AirZound horn button. He hit me on my left side. I first fall on the hood (and broke the windshield with my helmet). When he put the brakes on, I’ve been propelled on the asphalt and scratched and bruised my hip, leg….
And to beg pardon, he tried to pull me on my feet…
Travelling behind a series of cars whilst in the bike lane, which ends and I pull over to take the road.
the Black small car continues to overtake me through the roundabout. i am hit by her wing mirror on the elbow of my right arm.
the wheels where very close to the curb and I thought I was going to fall off as I was getting squeezed through the roundabout.
Blind Woman reverses out in front of me. Somehow it’s my fault because her car’s parking sensors didn’t go off and I was riding too fast according to her (only 28kph).
Parking sensors don’t help lazy, incompetent driving
