While cycling in USA we had a close call with a semi riding into Bridgeport California

Less than a mile from home, on a four lane surface street, a car approached in my lane with traffic in the left-hand lane. It approached so close, it filled my rear-view mirror on my glasses. The driver was waiting for the other traffic to clear before passing me, but I wish they had waited further behind me. I also had a rear-facing, blinking, daylight visible red LED light.

This fool was doing his best to intimidate cyclists riding [in the marked lane] along Riverside Road East Fremantle. At each cyclist it was power on for big noise and swerve in to the cycle lane.

Cycling through a T Intersection, a car hesitated then turned right in front of me, the car behind having an obscured view from the previous car also went through the intersection towards me, and made contact with my rear wheel. The driver stopped and was extremely apologetic, being a cyclist himself. I had no damage, but the situation could have easily been much much worse.

The bus was directly behind while we were waiting for the traffic lights but still went past and over the bike lane as if nothing is there. Now that’s what you call being professionally reckless!

We we pushing 22 mph and a white truck decided the lives of other were not important enough for him to wait a few seconds until it was clear to pass. He ended up running the other cars off the road.
