Red Light Runner, and where the crosswalk ends

Close Call: Was at the intersection of the Ox Rd Sidepath and Hampton Road, at the crosswalk, waiting for the light to change. Watched the near lane of traffic stop at the light, and no one was visible in the next lane over. Proceeded to cross with the 'walk' sign. Partway through the intersection, heard tires squealing -- the black car went through the intersection, missing me and stopping before the traffic turning left from Hampton Road.

Bad road/path: Then, the crosswalk abruptly ends. My front tire is nearing the end of the crosswalk (which abruptly ends in grass at the edge of the road). The other driver decides turning right while I'm still in the crosswalk is a cool idea.
