To the passenger in the black 2008 Acura TL (license plate JCC616) traveling south on HW119 and Daffodil Road by Veteran’s Park: Next time you think about throwing something at a passing cyclist, please consider that the cyclist is a person (with a family) who could have sustained serious injury or have been killed if I had crashed.

Lucky for me you have bad aim.

In addition, most of us are always recording…

The driver claimed I almost hit him.  At the time I thought he was maybe correct, maybe i got close to them.  Once i reviewed the video I was not even close to them.

Based on how he acted he is not stable and I think dangerous.

Even if I had gotten close to them this is no way to behave.

I suspect they are camping at Wickham Park.  I may drop by and show the park rangers, see what they think.

TRUCKS. Big. Heavy. Terrifying.
CYCLISTS. Small. Soft. Vulnerable.

Here is a small selection of the countless truck videos posted on the UpRide.cc map. Some of it is bad driving. Some of it is downright malicious. Some of it is just the result of terrible roads. The common theme is that if it goes wrong between a truck and a cyclist, the cyclist dies. UpRide exists to help instigate, enable and enact change to make our roads safer.

Guess I must have looked thirsty. This kind driver was kind enough to share their drink. Fortunately, I missed it.

Tradie in Flick Pest Control van thought he’d be clever and gutter run to drown cyclists.
It wouldn’t be so funny if someone crashed and ended up on the road.
The real pest was behind the wheel.

Oncoming pickup truck either on purpose or by not paying attention moved into the center and hit three cones separating the center divider. At least one of the cones ended up coming at me while driving the other way. The cones ended up stopping traffic behind me.

Two riders come up the slope and a minute later everyone scatters. Worth waiting for.

Young girl driving a yellow Porsche stalled on Santa Monica Blvd, West Los Angeles in rush hour. I pushed her out of the way.

Morning commute to Perth. Having crossed over Mitchell freeway on the Monger footbridge, I am about to join the southbound shared path when a speeding skateboarder passes in front of me. You guys at Cycliq would know how rough that path is (on the eastern side). I hung back from the rider in front in case the skateboarder had a mishap but further along in this ride I caught the skaterboarder and clocked him at 36-40km/hr wearing hardly any protection.

Seconds after a car turns into my lane a coconut falls from a tree and almost takes me out.
