3rd car overtaking over blind crest with oncoming car

Dump truck driver forced the cyclist off the pavement while passing on a two-lane road with no shoulder. After viewing the video, the city police investigated both the truck driver and the business owner. Police also reviewed the video with the county prosecuting attorney’s office. No charges were brought nor traffic citations issued, but the driver and the owner had the experience of a police investigation in the process.

The van raced up behind us. The road was (still is) badly pot-holed on the left so we stick out slightly. Just around the bend there is a driveway where we were going to let the van past. No he just overtakes on the blind left hand bend, causing an on-coming car to brake. Video submitted to police via the national UK portal for dash cam footage. They replied that this would result in a prosecution. No idea of the result of the prosecution, but now my local police – Avon and Somerset are taking part in the Close Pass Initiative, so things looking up.

I’ve lived in Atlanta for over 3 years now, and been commuting to work on bike most of this time. I’ve purchased my Cycliq cameras for events like that (and hopefully not worse ones)

Just another case of car’s acting badly and putting cyclists at risk. Frisco Texas Police Department want nothing to do with this unless I was actually injured or killed.
