Late for important date?

Driver rushed to drop off a couple of passengers outside the railway station, by stopping in the bike lane right in front of a pedestrian crossing where No Standing applies (I won't complain about the close pass - it could be argued I should've waited behind the parked car instead of riding in the door zone). I think the passengers would've missed the train departing at that time anyway, next train was due to depart in only 11 or 12 minutes. It's annoying that the first parked car can park there - IF they have a permit. The residential parking permits get traded and many cars get parked there during the day for the convenience of their owners catching the trains.
