I stopped at a red light. A motorist came up from behind. The motorist honked and approached, honked and approached and continued to do this until contact was made. Since the motorist said that no contact was made, the responding police officer asked me to carry on with my day, but I insisted that a police report be written. Using the traffic light camera as evidence, a police detective later charged the motorist with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The motorist offered to make a charitable donation in order to wrap up the case quickly and the court agreed. The case was never tried and the penalty for the first-time offender was a charitable contribution and community service hours.
Damage: I originally thought that the rear camera (Fly6) was crushed by the collision, but it started working again the next day. The collision stripped the bolts that were holding on the rear brake rotor.
Advice: 1. Always insist on a police report. 2. Check the bicycle thoroughly for damage. I did not notice the loose brake rotor right away.
