Turn right was wrong
15 Oct, 2023 - 1 year ago - on Mcdonalds Road I was riding my e-bike when a driver of a white van pulled out in front of me, failing to give way turning from the shopping centre. The exit used by the driver to turn right has a left turn arrow road marking and a "No Right Turn" sign on the median strip facing that exit. As the driver entered the road, I was expecting them to stop on the centre right turn lane next to the median strip/traffic island to allow me to proceed. However, they continued and I had to take drastic evasive action, slamming my brakes on (possibly a shuddering noise resulting from what could be a loose steering tube of my e-bike can be heard on the attached video - I'm definitely going to get that fixed!) and using my left foot on the ground to balance and help stop. The driver continued merrily on their way.
