I'd just had a friendly chat with a VW driver who close passed me & was pleased that as we pulled away he passed again with lots of room. The van behind came up close & followed for a while then I saw that it was accelerating to pass without leaving the left lane. I was worried it would hit me & gestured to the driver to change lanes and pass me safely. This enraged them & as they passed they swerved at me twice trying to hit me. I
avoided this attack & the driver dangerously swerved in front of me & drove onto the
pavement, luckily no pedestrians were there at the time. The driver either planned to
knock me off my bicycle or block my way so he could exit the van and attack me. I went
around the van & pointing to my camera I shouted I was recording & would report him to
the Police. By now I was in fear for my life as I realised there was no place for me to
escape if the driver was prepared to drive on the pavement but the warning did the trick
& the driver now passed me without incident. A short while later I realised I was
shaking & pulled over to compose myself.
I reported this to the police but have no idea what the outcome was.
