Full stop at a four way, waited for driver to stop, went through intersection, driver tried to go through before I could clear the intersection. Didn’t even look. I have Fly6 footage showing the rear view and the impact. Insurance company accepted liability after seeing footage. This is a heavy bike traffic neighborhood with people doing regular rides, families with kids riding and walking, and Justin has a two way restricted bike lane that you’ll see I was crossing through when the impact happened. No excuse on driver’s part.

full stop, waited for her to stop, went through intersection, crash occurred because she didn’t wait for me to finish crossing. Video shows I started to cross into the bike lane when she hit me, in fact. This is a very popular cycling neighborhood used by serious cyclists and families with kids. There are bike lanes and protected bike lanes all over the neighborhood. No excuse. Working with her insurance company right now.

Roundabouts. A never ending source of crashes caused by people who think “I didn’t see you” is a valid excuse…

Impatient Driver clips cyclist from behind while attempting to pass. Fortunately Driver stopped.

Cycling to the gym and had to get out of the trucks path or become a statistic. Truck and indeed no one stopped after the accident. Luckily the cake shop owner came to my rescue. Apple watch worked a treat for the sudden stop (left arm wrapped around the no standing sign and dislocated my shoulder). Reported to police and I’m told investigation is ongoing.

I was riding home S/SE down 15th Ave S. Driver rolled through the stop sign on the east side of Dawson, hesitated in the middle of the road, then accelerated. I slammed my breaks and tried to turn away from the vehicle but I couldn’t avoid a collision. Driver stopped then immediately drove off. Front camera had died earlier in my ride, only the rear was working at this point.

Orange or Red Mitsubishi or Suzuki little SUV type thing.

A young woman backing her car out of a driveway collided with me towards the bottom of a hill, causing me to fall onto the roadway.  I was hospitalised for 3 days with an acromioclavicular (AC) joint separation in my right shoulder (my arm was in a sling for 5 weeks, & is still not fully healed) and a large haematoma in my left abdomen (drained by surgery two weeks later).  The young driver was very apologetic in the hours & weeks after the incident. The police report indicated that the car driver was at fault – I was advised that she was fined for negligent driving.  My medical costs have been covered by the NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) scheme. An ultrasound & acoustic examination by Carbon Bike Doctor in Mona Vale, Sydney, revealed that the down tube, fork steerer & front wheel on my Focus carbon fiber bike were irreparably damaged, so I’ve had to replace them.  It took several months to arrange the examination of the bike, since I my arm was in a sling 5 weeks after the accident. The driver is refusing to claim against her comprehensive car insurance to cover the costs, because she considers that I took too long to have the bike examined (& so believes I am trying to scam her) and she is unemployed.  Small claims court action may be necessary.

Driver of SUV overtakes person on bicycle and made a right turn at the same instant the person on the bicycle was in the bicycle lane going straight ahead. Person on the bicycle immediately braked, their body hit the road and sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital emergency room.

Riding my bike on the bike lane, one vehicle was stalled due to a dead battery.  All cars including bikes had to go around the stalled vehicle when the car in front of me made a sharp right turn taking me and my bike down.

While waiting to turn right I was run over by a Volkswagen T5 cutting across the junction. Luckily I had one foot unclipped so I was able to jump out of the way when I realised the driver hadn’t seen me. I was left with some minor abrasions, but my bike was a write-off.
