This female BMW X1 SUV driver entered the roundabout looking straight ahead, failing to do a head check for vehicles approaching from her right. The rider had to brake hard to avoid being struck. Under NSW road rules, vehicles entering a roundabout must give way to any vehicle already in the roundabout, which includes bicycles.
Incident type: Motor vehicle
A car drove into the oncoming lane and was headed straight for me. Such a close call.
I thought the motorbike rider gave us plenty of room and treated us well when he passed us. However, when we got home I checked the speed we were doing on Garmin Connect, and discovered that we had been exactly on the 60km/hr speed limit…
Driver cutting the corner on a tight bend
car raced passed me then turned left infront of me must of been in a hurry
car tried to cut me off to go round car turning right
Once the traffic signal turned green I proceeded forward to make a left turn. As I approached the middle of the intersection a driver ran the red light right in front of me.
The driver looked my way but who knows if if he was even awake. Luckily I did slow down “just in case”.
I took the lane as I was approaching the roundabout but vehicle decided to pass me anyway cutting me off at the entrance to the roundabout and immediately braked in front of me.
