This happens over and over again here in Paris. It’s great that bicycles now outnumber motor vehicles, but the people running these tourist rickshaws seem to have no regard for human life, cyclists, or anyone else. As you can see, this one parked diagonally, blocking both sides of the bike lane, so I had to swerve around him. What I didn’t see until the last moment was a tourist, staring at her iPhone, crossing in the dark without realizing that bikes were coming at 20 to 25 km/h from both directions. Fortunately, I reacted just in time — otherwise, that tourist would be in the hospital right now.
