The driver of this vehicle had no regard for cyclists

As my wife and I were cycling along the B4263 in Caerphilly, towards the mini roundabout, known locally as the Bowels this van, a black Vauxhall Vivaro, reg number JA53HGS decided to come past me. He actually clipped me with his door mirror which folded in. I asked him What he was doing. He replied "running you over", which actually made me laugh. He then just drove off as if it was just a normal day. A DVLA check suggests that the MOT on this vehicle expired in January 2021. Why do drivers of vehicles have to treat cyclists with total disregard is beyond me.
