The usual alarming, becoming ever more common, close pass when someone in a Mercedes, BMW or Audi overtakes a cyclist whatever the circumstances. He finds, to his utter amazement that there's an oncoming vehicle and so pulls in much closer to the cyclist than to all that hard steel coming the other way. The thinking is that he can just knock the cyclist off if necessary. Lancashire police feel the same way, and so ignore all these. I already have numerous worse examples so I'm not reporting this one.
