Almost run over by bully while doing legal left turn

Going up Larkin, preparing for left turn into mid-block garage. Stretching arm to signal all the way from the intersection, pull to the middle of the street to make absolutely clear what the intention is. Doesn't matter. Driver from behind can't slow down for another half second, squeezes through on the left side the very moment I start to turn. Barely avoided him.
Excuse the bad language, but wouldn't you be upset about that sort of entitlement either?
Guess, you just can't turn left on a bicycle safely in this town.
