Bunch Ride Mishaps

Two Hands!

GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA

Racing at my local club race. The bunch slowed an sat up in the back straight. The rider with number 2 on his back has his front wheel chopped at 17 seconds in and causes rider 19 and 4 to come down. Didn’t help that rider 19 had one hand off the wheel.

Turbulent Tumble

Watch out for the chain coming as one of the guys takes off for sprint.

A Wheel Kiss

NSW, AUSTRALIA

Cruising up around 50km/hr, all was well until it was time to turn in. A little back off from me in the front saw him kiss my rear wheel, and the rest is dust, a flying phone and only a meter to a steel barricade. Luckily, it was only skin and bar tape that took a beating, and the camera caught it all!

Overtake Gone Wrong

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

Crashed into a cyclist on the wrong side of the bike path overtaking a group on a blind corner.

Why record your ride?

If you ride on the road, it’s getting harder to get home safely. More distracted, dangerous drivers and infrastructure that hasn’t kept up with demand. It’s tough out there, and it’s time to do something about it.

We believe there are three things that can change the safety equation for bike riders. Raising AWARENESS of how big the problem is and the changes that can be made to make sure every road user gets home safely. Influencing planning priorities with the only real-world INFORMATION on cycling black spots. Getting the evidence needed to PROSECUTE drivers who continue to put lives at risk.

Make your mark on improving cycling safety by posting your footage of any incidents you’ve encountered. When you add to UpRide, everyone benefits.
